Read what the HR Recruiter role is ACTUALLY like

This is a special role, and a very tough one. There is a very high expectation from a recruiter. You have to bring the right people into the organization. We will not be happy with less than 70-80 calls every day, talking to different people, and at the same time judging why or why not they will fit our company. Your day will be filled with calls, call backs, VC links, and candidates for physical interviews.

Not only will you be calling them, but will also be incharge of interviewing them, negotiations and finally onboarding them. If you help them succeed, and they get a confirmation, you get incentives. And as soon as they start performing and getting incentives (which happens rather quickly for most roles), you get a part of that. This keeps growing. The scope is unlimited and the rewards are uncapped.

This requires an in-depth knowledge of why our company is special, and a very detailed understanding of any role you're hiring for. You will be expected to learn more technical aspects of the role so you can actually ask smart questions. Recruiters should be independent, and not depend on managers to get the right candidate.

If your english communication is not great, do not apply. If you are not good at people, definitely do not apply. If you can't judge people or lead them or don't think you're a great natural negotiator, you will probably fail at this role. If you cannot make a 100 dials and speak to 70-80 people daily, you will fail. You will fail if you're not hungry for success, and willing to put in all it takes. You will not succeed if you fail to understand and convince others, how amazing an opportunity this is right now.

So it's a high pressure, high reward role. Results are measured, effort is secondary.

Some candidates will ghost you, lie to you or do many funny things, but you must still keep a positive face and take full accountability of the results. And you will find amazing people for sure.

Also, growth is not optional. We expect our recruiters to grow into HR managers soon. So you will need to start learning performance management, learning/development and a bit of HR ops (with our help ofcourse, but you need to have a very open mind).
